Description
There’s no planes, trains and automobiles allowed at Valley Oak Recreation Area--only boats, bikes and your own two feet! That’s how you’ll arrive in style to your campsite along the Stanislaus River. Arrival methods are creative, for sure, but you won’t be roughing it in the slightest. Each site boasts a fire pit, picnic table, garbage cans and access to restrooms. I rented this whole campground out for Halloween weekend 2017 and set up the coolest party there ever was. Totally rad.
They allowed us to use all the individual campsites because of the flow of the river there any people trying to boat in camp.
It's a great lil campground for the random weekday blip. Not what I look for in a weekend away. River access for swimming/wading is not good here. There is a bench on the other side for fishing. Restrooms are close and camp host was cool. It's about 1/4 mile walk in. Nothing for average joe but something to think about when taking older campers or bringing a lot of stuff in for a party. Also it's tent only, no campers can get in there.
